Li Mingyong, __1__ high school dropout who taught himself while working to pay off family debts, has made the headlines after graduating with a doctorate and __2__ (land) a teaching job at a university.

Li owed his success __3__ strong determination to achieve his target. He had to quit school at the age of 16 after his family members fell ill, despite always being in the top three of his class.
