remain用作系动词, 表示“一直保持”、“仍然（处于某种状态）”、“继续存在”、“依然”, 具体用法有：
1. 后面接名词作表语。如：
In spite of their quarrel, they remained the best friends.
2. 后面接形容词作表语。如：
Despite the danger, she remained calm.
