American TV comedy Grey’s Anatomy《实习医生格蕾》finished its last episode (集) in the US as people all waited to see if the endless uninteresting rumors were true and both T.R. Knight (who plays George O’s Malley) and Katherine Heigl (Izzie Stevens) were leaving.
Enter the world of Seattle Grace Hospital, where residents and interns (住院实习医生) try to be the best doctors in the country—but first they must deal with life, love and relationships.
The show focuses on Grey, a surgical (外科的) resident trying to live up to the reputation (名望) of her famous mother, Dr. Ellis Grey. To make life more complicated (复杂), she falls for her boss, Derek Shepherd, a surgical resident. Her fellow interns—Isobel “Izzie” Stevens, George O’Malley, and Alex Karw—have problems of their own.
George has been leaving the show for months now. He’s a shadow of his former self, and at the edge of the action.
Izzie was the most likely to die—she has battled cancer. When she married Alex, in the next-to-last episode, it seemed the last day of the world could not be far off. Her thinking about whether to let Derek perform surgery that might result in her not remembering anything was just stage business. Of course she’d have the surgery. Of course she’d remember and of course, just as things were looking better, she’d die.
