Dead Sea
Located in Israel, it’s too salty for any animal life to live there. Although it’s difficult to swim, floating is not a problem. An unusual feature of this lake is that, it produces lots of asphalt(沥青)．
Taal Lake
It’s a freshwater lake located in the Philippines. The strange thing about it is that, it’s a haven for an island called Volcano Island, located in the middle of the lake, and the island also features a smaller lake called Great Yellow Lake, which holds a smaller island called Vulcan Point.
Lake Balkhash
It’s the 12th largest lake in the world, and located in Kazakhstan in Central Asia. The strange thing about the lake is that half of the lake consists of freshwater, and the other half consists of saltwater.
Resia Lake
It’s an artificial lake located in North Italy. All the villages have been flooded because of the outbreak of the river. The tower is the only thing that remains standing after the incident. Only when the lake is frozen(结冰) in winter can people come to visit the tower located in the middle.
Tonlé Sap Lake
It’s a freshwater lake located in Cambodia. The unusual thing is that the flow of the water changes its direction twice a year. From November to May, it flows into the Mekong river, but during the rainy season, it backs up to form a huge lake, about five times its normal size.
Boiling Lake
It’s located in Dominica. It is the second largest hot spring in the world, though you wouldn’t dare to go for a swim, which actually is not allowed there. The temperature of the water ranges from 180°F～197°F.
